Centennial Trail was vacated by the railroad and property owners were given an opportunity to purchase the easement. Skagit County Parks purchased sections of easement along the corridor that property owners did not take the purchase option on, which resulted in the patchwork of easements along this line where county owns several but with private ownership gaps between them. We are working to develop a northern terminace to the trail to meet Snohomish County's extension to the county line sometime in 2010.
